Now that you mention it. It's a stylized shaped guy, but he does have a slight resemblance to the figure of the Governator.

          that's a really cool image
          Thanks man!

          Cheers,

Nice work Metin, I like your special illustration style.

Just gave your blog a shot and saw some hand drawings. The mourning drawings are really good, especially given the fact that you haven't drawn for long time.

Thanks again! I'm doing my best to keep that up, but I'm such an incurable computer addict that it's hard to pull myself away from my computer desk. Life is hard.

                  Hi Nik,

Ah, a family reunion, how lovely. Good luck, I'll think of you while I'm enjoying 3ds Max.

I'm not located in the neighbourhood of Tilburg. Hilversum is much more to the North. So I can't promise you to pull you away from your family and have a beer or six while loudly discussing V-Ray.

                  Cheers,

                  Metin

Tilburg hey, that's where I live

Metin, I know what you mean, I want to force myself to use more hand drawing as well, but it's a completely different world. I remember on university, I used to work on hand made design drawings for 20 to 40 hours, and I just don't have the patience anymore, knowing that I can make a more realistic image in much less time using rhino, solidworks, max and vray. Somehow I regret that, but on the other hand I cannot image anymore, not having these tools at hand when making design concepts.

I can totally identify with what you wrote here. Of course digital tools like Max offer such a powerful arsenal of possibilities that it stretches your creativity far more than just a pencil and a piece of paper. But somehow I've always kept the feeling that a true creative person should be able to adopt any medium and create beautiful things with it after the right amount of practice. So when I tell someone that I'm an illustrator, I should be able to prove that the classical way as well, in my humble opinion.

The bottom line is that if that fabulous calculator wasn't on my desk I should be able to call myself an artist anyway, or else it would not feel right.

                              Goodnight,

                              Metin
