    Hello,

Just wanted to post a new project I'm close to wrapping up to get any feedback. The foreground DOF and vegetation will be reworked - maybe I'll try some AI tricks as I haven't explored that very much. Not to much done in post, just a little color grading. Anyway, I always appreciate any feedback as it's always nice to have other eyes look it over.

Nice feel to this one. I can't wait to see the final.

Yes it does have a good feel overall, although I'm thinking the focusing makes it look too much like a comp, so those sharp divisions could be smoothed a bit.
      I'm sure it will develop

Appreciate the comments. I had to sideline this one for a few weeks, but back on it.

I have some general questions for everyone:
        1. I've tried upscaling software, but have always found so far that just a raw 4k render always looks better....? I haven't purchased Magnific tho... Maybe I should?
        2. For those that use render farms, which have been the best for you? I've used a few now and just curious.
        3. Is everyone slowly transitioning to Davinci / Nuke for compositing?!

Also, sorry Fixeighted, but what is a 'comp'!? For this render, dof will be applied (tho, in this image, it looks quite shit. I'm using the RE tho... maybe camera DOF would be better?) I'm trying to find that blown out look for the background... I've never rendered that before, so its a work in progress. Anyway have any tips on how to achieve that....? This attempt, I believe I just reversed a mask and added a lens blur or something? I can't remember...! But it definitely doesn't have that 'blur glow' I'm looking for.

I'm happy to hear you guys like the feel tho as it was many iterations to portray that. I feel like... you feel it...! Haha. Also, it's quite dark. Will lighten

I mean composite, so basically layers in this instance.

If you're just doing still frames then I would say use camera dof, so you then at least know it's correct.
Or use a depth pass and a good plugin if you can't take the render time hit. Results can vary but it's non-destructive.

If you used the camera dof then you can see what's happening to achieve any blown out areas, which are going to be simply the exposure combined
with the blur, together with whatever lighting you have.

As to using any AI for either upscaling or enhancement, it's up to you really. It can do wonders with foliage and people and can add random detail that works well, when used judiciously.

Personally I don't necessarily think this is too dark. Moreso it looks like there should be other supporting angles to better show off the property
