    Hi Forum

I think i'm a bit slow-- , been using max for about 2-3 years now slowly morphing myself into 'the 3d guy' in the arch office!. Was really stuck in mid september doing an animation from exterior to interior, not getting anything like the result i wanted-- and kept seeing these images on Viz Masters emails that were amazing..'whats this vray thingy' i thought.

Looked into it, this looks the business!! tried to sell the idea of vray to the bosses (didnt work, was at a loss to fully descride what it is)..so ended up buying myself!!

Anyway after much late night reading of this very forum and doing all the tutorials several times, i thought id post the first couple of (completely unrelated) images that i thought- yeh thats not bad! Please give your expert C&C.

--furniture in the interior is not my modeling, in fact some of you lot modelled them i think!--

So this Vray, been around for a while then?...(told you i'm a bit slow)

very nice work however the 2nd image if you wanted to go with an artsy angle like that should have camera distortion (bulge) to sell the angle more as a winde angle shot. for arch viz stuff though usually a higher normal angle is better. I hope your boss refunds your money hehe although with vray being yours you get to leave their office with it when you quit or get fired (goodness forbit that happens)

Nice renders, I really dig the carpet in the second image. There's quite a bit of tiling in the first image, especially with the stone wall. Really nice start with VRay

Nice renders, i quite like the first one. The textures are nice and clean and that road looks great.
Sure the wall is a little tiled but still looks good. Did you use displacement on it?

Also welcome, and dont be a stranger

Nice work Dougie...maybe the leather texture on the couch in the second image is a bit large...gives a weird scaling....try doubling it

great images , very clean, i would add displacement onto that stone wall that follows the road, Far away it looks great but in the foregraond it looks too smooth.

              very cool

                Hi all-
                Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah, wall does seem a bit flat- think I just bumped it, will displace it next time (as client has just emailed with 4th change so re-render is necessary) - and it doesn't tile that well does it- needs work.

                        Nice lighting !

But I hate tiled textures! It makes picture too "computerish"!
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
