  • hotel at the beach (animation)

here's my last animation. Building model was created by my friend (Robert Cwierz). Interior, lighting, textures, animation created by me.
Of course it could be better but if you take a look at time you will understand

    2 days - modelling
    1 day lighting, animation, texturing.

Not bad for 1 day I guess.

I got so dizzy I couldn't finish the animation! Never listen to the architect when they say they want 1 continuous camera path. A lot of wasted frames and render time here.

Wow I have a hard time believing everything took three days cause it looks too good for that. How long did the rendering take?

rendering time was about 30 minutes per frame by average.
I would say all of that took 4 days to render.

                Nice work Lukx.
That stainless steel lift texture is spot on.
I always seem to struggle with brushed stainless at that scale.
I just get a light grey blurred effect.
Any tips or *cough* material settings?

                  nice work, modeling and lighting.
perfect for the time it took.

                  animation is a bit boring.
the exterior camera is too long.
the cameras inside the hotel are also too long and i think that using cuts instead of a 1 shot camera will be much better.
all the hallways is something you can do without.
also making 360 inside a room ?why?

geoff, it's just simple texture. Because of render times I'm trying to fake all glossines using textures instead of shader.
