  • X-Massacre (Post Your Chrismas Wishes Here)

The best wishes to all of you. I know it's a bit early for this, but I think it's never too early for some good wishes.

    Cheers,

    Metin

Edit: changed the image into my 2008 V-Ray X-Mas greeting.

That's cute! If you're gonna say this is a rendered scene with photos of your kids, then I want to have a training from you.

            Metin_7,

yes it's a rendered scene I used snow particles and I cut and pasted my kids in. I did a reflection layer and erased the areas on the kid layer for the snow. pretty simple.

            i do one every year.

Hey, I like your site(s). Are you also thinking of making the character items as objects you can hold? or are they to stay as virtual?

Wow, if you're really serious then I bow for you, as the metal, the solid snow layer and the glass look amazingly real.

Thanks for your compliment about my sites. It's a dream for me to see my character designs materialized, but it's very hard to find an interested party that can help me realize that dream.

              All the best,

                Metin,

the glass is standard vray glass setup, reflect all the way to white, Fresnel refection on, refract all the way to white and a little bit of green in fog color.
the metal (I thought it looked more like a goldleaf aplication) is a bit map in difuse and a grayscae bitmap in relect and refl. gloss. with Fresnel reflec checked and the IOR set to 10. also a very low bump bitmap. like I said very simple stuff. It comes down to the HDR files lighting quality.

Well, simple or not, the end result looks very convincing, so my respect to you anyway.

                  Cheers,

Definitely looks great, Francis. I assume the blurry refractions took quite a bit of rendertime or did you use some trick?

                        Cheers,

@Rerender, this is one of the best applications of Eschers work I've seen, wonderful work!
