Really nice. Simple, does the job.

The only part I do not like is the end, the sun, either the concept itself or the realisation, but appart of that, I think you got a nice slick thing going on here. Nice implementation with the backgrounds as well

Great stuff. I'd hoped you'd post this after I saw the original images, and the internal shots certainly match the quality of the stills, which is quite an achievement. Exterior has a different feel to it - less realistic I guess - but it still works very well, and the integration with the background plate is seamless. Was it just a panoramic photo mapped on to the inside of a cylinder, or was it matchmoved live footage?

If you don't mind me asking, how many people worked on the project, and how long did it take? What sort of frame times did you have for the interior and exterior shots? Sorry to fire so many questions at you, just interested?

        Cheers,

        Andrew.

Very nice work. The animation is very clean and well layed out. The transititions from scene to scene is nice and smooth. I agree about the ending, it doesn't seem to fit.

Thanks everyone for such positive comments. Would you all believe I ran out of ideas on how to end that final run, so I threw that dodgy sun in there. The whole thing will be going on a DVD so I'm SURE it won't be in the finished cut.

                  In answer to your questions Andrew;

The background is 4 pictures stitched together which were taken actually standing on the site (so what you see is what you'll get). It was then mapped onto a large plan and lit independantly of the other geometry.

There were 2 of us working on the project. I modelled 2 of the villas, including the landscaping and did the complete interior - my partner finished the exterior off.

Timescales - The whole thing has probably taken, if we deduct waiting for info from architects, client etc, 5 weeks. The villas were each modelled in about 2 days each, landscaping and general scene building another 4-5 days. Lighting and cameras another 2 days. Proably another week or so to render.

The interior was completed in about 4-5 days, including lighting tests with another week to render.

We haven't had to much pressure from the client as he hasn't got the rest of his marketing matl ready yet - so it got quite 'bitty' in the end as we squeezed other projects in between.

All in all though an enjoyable project and a massive learning curve all round on the 'vray processes'. I think this is our best yet since buying vray in August.

Thanks again everyone, and I'll keep learning from this very good forum.

                  Kind regards

                  Steve

Thanks for all the info Steve - sounds like it was a good job to work on, and it shows in the final quality. Makes a change to not have a client who wants everything yesterday - it's a rare thing!

                              Nice work Steve,

I also finished an animation last week, looking at yours made me realise just how much work goes into these things especially when the client changes the design 3 times and doesn't even tell you !

Its all fun and games !
