hi, i need a bit of help with these images please,

the first two images are rendered at 640 x 480.

the 3rd image is rendered at 2200x 1650 and resized down.

in the 3rd image the ceiling is blotchy but the render seetings are the same as the smaller images.

How can i rectify this, and get rid of the blotches ?

    hi res image sized down:

I have had a similar problem before which was due to using the vray light material. could have been the multiplier being too high?.

the other settings look fine to me anyway

In the light cache settings check on the "pre filter" setting

i think the noise treshold in the qmc sampler thingy is 0.005 ... i am also having those blotches in my visual, but i simply lowered the noise treshold to 0.002 or 0.003, it should be very smooth, but rendering time is increasing, any other method from you guys?

                  Hello,
I think that the problem is the Light cache Scale, try World Scale (not Screen)

                    Thanks guys,

so to recap, if i change light cache to pre filter, lower my noise threshold to 0.002 and use world scale i should be sorted, i try that out tonight cheers

id raise your hspher and interp samples in the irradiance map they are noticably low. as a standard i usually use 60/30

I thought the light light cache scale was best set at screen for still images. Surely setting it to world leads too high a sampling rate at objects far away from the camera?
                        Many Thanks

                          I usually use a Clr Thresold of 0.25 / 0.30 instead of default 0.40.

It may help as well and doesn't increase the render time drastically !
