  • Whats wrong with my bris soleil?

Any idea whats wrong with my bris soleils in this image? The gaps between each 'blade' are the same. The sun is a simple Direct light with vray soft shadows. My settings are IRmap (High settings with 60HSph and 20 Interp Samples) and LC (2000 samples). The material on the bris soleil is a simple just off white colour.

    Kind Regards,

Set the shadow bias for the sun shadows to 0.0 and see if it helps.

      Cheers V - worked a treat!

Should I therefore always have the bias set to '0'?

        Hi !
I always set the sun shadow bias at 0...I don't understand why it is set at 0.2 by default neither the use of this setting.

i disagree. setting bias to 0.0 can produce weirdness on faces, there for 0.01 or 0.1 is better.
bias is basicly shadow precision for object. With larger bias shadows wont trace small objects and vise versa.
