  • Some of our work with Vray

Finally I have some stuff to post.

The company I work for, eyeballnyc, here in New York City is a design and animation house.

This link will bring you to a page with 9 jobs we did using Vray for our primary 3d renderer.

The work ranges over the past 2 years and includes a mixture of on air promotional pieces for networks and national commercials.

Only a few use full GI. Most of our production schedules don't give us enough time to use it. But we rely heavily on Vray's speed in rendering glossy reflection and soft shadows.

    Hi Vance,
That's some great work you have there. It's always nice to see max and vray being used for projects other than arch vis. What sort of turnaround time and team sizes do you have for productions like that?

    Cheers,

    Andrew.

      Andrew,

thanks for taking a look at that stuff.

Our production schedules range anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months usually. But our method of working doesn't leave a lot of time for rendering since we work on and change animations all the way up to the deadline. Sometimes I'm lucky if I get a few days devoted to rendering and with more and more of our jobs being done in HD its always a challenge.

For most jobs we will use 2 to 4 3d people but there are usually additional 2d compositors and animators involved in our productions as well. If the job is large enough and there is a budget for it, we will hire additional freelancers.
