    Improved one of my interiors I posted earlier. Render and screendump attached. I’m about to improve on the kitchen interior as well, in time. I might post the results in the same thread.

    Lovely lighting m- Almost has a fine art quality to it. The balance between the forground and background is great.

          Lovely lighting, modeling and texturing.

          The camera is really distorting the perspective though. It looks like that magazine is going to slide off of the table.

            Great work! Congrats!

            Crits:
            1. The dining chairs have very thin legs. Can get broken easily.
            2. The lamp is too low, one may hit his head in it.
            3. Curtains don't look real (geometry problems) think of some cloth simulations.
            4. Slightly over-exposed (as it is a contre-jour) should have more contrast
            Bright vs Dark.

              the image is realy atractive, but something looked slightly strange an i could not put my finger on...

              as Candalero said i suppose that with that amount of light coming in from the windos the interior should have a strong contrast in a phisical sense....also the curtains would need a touch...anyway i think it s a great work...

              ahh...and is this ur living? i like the detail of the picture on the window near to the table!hehe

                sweet place congrats!
                I Agree for the contre jour, hard to reach in this kind of image and + it will kill a bit the "understanding" in the dark zone (if you understand well my english ) .
                Anyway very good lighting.

                  1. not my design but those chairs are for real
                  2. no one is walking on the table so no worries
                  3. little effort made to make realistic curtains due to time restraints
                  4. it is intentional becasue its about visualisation and not photorealistic rendering

                    Here is a little quick tutorial on making a better curtain, and suppose it could be faster than drawing a spline with extrude mod over it.

                    SimCloth involved
                    • (*) Create a plane in front view. (enough subdivisions)
                      (*) Convert to Poly
                      (*) Sub-selection level - Vertex
                      (*) Select the top vertexes like skipping 1 or 2 in a row, just like there are
                      the clippers
                      (*) Turn animation on.
                      (*) Go to some frame - let's say 50.
                      (*) Scale the plane on the X axis to something like 35% of the initial size.
                      (*) Go back to frame 0, and start the SimCloth simulation.

                    This may look quite long, but all actions take no more than 1 min. The rest, just leave to SimCloth.

                    P.S.:
                    Q: What is better in this way than the other ?
                    A: The better is that from 1 Plane, at last you can have all curtains looking different.

                    Q: How do you do this? It is just one and the same plane, isn't it?
                    A: Yes, but you can copy it several times, and convert it to editable poly/mesh in the different frames. Thus you will create let's say 7-8 curtains,
                    which none is the same like the others.

                    Q: So you think this is much faster than the spline way ?
                    A: Yes. If one should draw 8 different curtains, he/she has to repeat all the
                    drawings/extrude from scratch for each curtain. Sure, you can move 1-2 spline vertexes and thus make it look different. The better way in spline creating curtains method is to be done with cross-section, and having the spline different in height. This will give the curtain some LIFE, but it takes
                    really much more time.

                      Thanks for the tutorial Candelero but I have used different cloth simulations including SimCloth for over 10 years already. I just don’t waste our client’s money on improving things of little importance.

                        Thanks for the tute candelero. I think Bratwurst may have misintepreted your intentions as being something other than constructive. I think considering the quality of the rest of the image that extra details such as the curtains are some the final things that can be improved. The client is willing to pay for the rest of the detail put into the interior so you already have many things in the scene that SOME would think are of little importance. There is always a lot more to learn so being defensive when someone takes the time to offer constructive criticism only hinders your own progress. Just saying what everyone is probably thinking...

                        Really nice work though, thanks for the screendump it illustrates how you did the background very clearly. The only Crit i could give is the lounge chairs and dining chairs seem a bit regular and perfect looking in terms of the modelling (some arse grooves on the cusions would be nice!). Lighting quality in the scene is very nice although I also prefer the less overexposed interiors with more contrast but in terms of a marketing image, what you have done is great.

                            The blending of the exterior images is looking very good!
