    Hi,

I posted some stills from this on a different thread and was asked to post the final animation - so here it is. Any comments would be welcome

    Thanks

I like it alot. The lighting looks spot-on to me. It looks to me like you used the evermotion interiors collection for your furniture. If you did, did you use their lighting style in this scene? I would be interested in how it was acheived. It looks great!

My only criticism would be the camera path. I'm not a big fan of actual walk-through paths. But if that's what the client wants.....

        Hi Steve,

Very good work, I like the lighting especially in the warehouse. I agree with gilpo though, I'd prefer to see it broken into 2 or 3 separate camera paths if only to avoid doing U-turns in that tight space.

It doesn't look like you've used 'store with irradiance maps' on your VRay lights. It looks better for it but what are the render times like?

          Thanks for your comments.

I'm not that keen on the path, but thats what the client wanted!

Daniel, I've never tried 'store with irridiance map' - what does that do for the render times/quality. As it was they were taking between 30-40 mins

          Cheers

It will speed up render-times against quality.., you may need to increase the shadow subdivisions to get a better look.

As Nikki said, it will speed your render times but you will lose some detail in your shadows and glossy highlights.

But if you are rendering from a precalculated lighting solution its definitely worth experimenting with for test renders. I've had frame times down to 3 - 5 minutes when all the lights have been stored with the irradiance map, even with a few glossies in there.

Ditto on the compliments. Just one thing: I kept thinking my head was going to hit the top of the door frame. I'd think about lowering the camera a bit.
