  • small character animation

    Hi,

A while ago I asked for some help in animating my robot character. Thanks Joconnel and ropping for the help
Since it only walks in a straight line, I tried to create some more motion around it with limited animation knowledge. Here's a test movie with very low qmc quality (noise!!).

Feel free to comment, I want to make it much better before I render it out in good quality, which will take a while with only 1 pc.

    Thanks,

pretty good start, the part where the camera man gets knocked over? is way to slow and smooth.

              its nice,
but imo the wipping of the head is a bit to extreme, or to hesitant.

                Ok thanks for the replies!

I'll work some more on the hitting part, I indeed did the cam animation by hand. The shakes when the robot walks is done with noise controller on the z movement so that's not entirely by hand

Roppin, the ball joint is for the future, I first wanted to do something with the stuff I had so far

I have a habit of taking pictures of the sky view I have at the back of my appartment. This is one of them, it is only 180°, and not even with the top of it included. Here's a low res version, with much cloning etc on it.

I just made sure the pinching at the top didn't come into view haha.

Oh and I also used max fog to create a kind of haze in the distance to blend the sky with the horizon somewhat better. But Vray isn't that happy with max fog it seems, I get lots of overbright color warnings when I use the fog. Is there a better way to do this, and also volume lights in vray all in one pass? (or lens effects etc... this all doesn't work with vray)

Just use a depth pass and layer that over in after effects or another compositor.
