Really, hmmm I always thought it worked fairly fine in normal workflow. Maybe after playing with some of the turbidy settings. My previous LWF attempts were always washed out.
Mind you I am using the Vray Physical Camera in this render which i forgot to mention and I think thats helping a GREAT deal. Tried it with a normal camera and well the scene was far to bright. Had to lower the MP's alot.
Sawyer:
I think im away that week
jow:
Mostly default, but changed the sun intensity to 0.035 and the sun intensity (in the vraysky rollout) to 0.05.
And I cant remember why I had those different. LOL
Using a normal camera that may very well wash the scene out totally. But i was using a VrayPhysicalCamera setup to mimic the Maxwell one. Which allowed the light to be kept under control.
Its certainly interesting to play with.. give it a shot
roppin:
For that render it was just the sun animating. I did give a thought to animating the other parts but the end result seemed good enough for what I wanted to I left it as is.
Thanks for all your comments lads

@ DaForce
Leave the Sun intesity by default 1.0.
And play with the camera parameters, ISO, Shutters, F.numbers to get the needed lighting correct - AND THE MOST IMP - is check on the <Exposure> check-box, otherwise you'll get blown away.

hehe ok will try that when i get home.
So does that mean that the default camera settings ATM the wildly out of whack?
Yeah exposure is already ticked
oh is it possible to do a spherical (360) render with the vrayphysicalcamera? i couldnt get it to work in tests.

Vlado:
Thanks for the tips man, thats basically what I came up with after tinkering last night. Almost spot on to what you suggest
Yeah i was going to suggest some presets. For sunny conditions, for cloudy conditions..etc..etc.. would be REALLY handy. Although i assume they would only be relevant if your using sun/sky hey.
And i assume things like the shutter speed, f-stop and focal distance have an effect on the moblur and DOF such as a normal camera would?
Yeah thats what i figured but if you change back to a standard camera you need to drop the sun/sky intensity ALOT.. hehe no biggie I guess tho.

Thanks guys glad you liked it.
