  • beer mug

just testing out a few things. i started modeling a mug and one thing led to another. this is what i came up with. does the glass seem accurate? is there a generally agreed upon method for how liquid should interact with the cup. i just kept moving the verticies around until i got something decent.
    thanks,

People at my work are wondering why I keep staring at a picture of beer. "Mmm, beeeer" [drool].

I like your coloring, but the gradient from bottom to top of the beer is a little much, unless you have a pale ale at the bottom, and a dark beer on top.
The bottom cap looks a little small as well, as if in your bend it lost mass. Are those drips on the bottle ice crystals melting? Cool. Nice distorted internal bubbles too.

How did you do your froth?

i recently started brewing my own beer...maybe that why i chose this scene.
i agree about the cap but i think its an optical illusion. i placed it on the top to make sure it fits. not sure what to do about the gradient in the beer. there is no gradient on the material. i think it is caused by shadow from the foam.
      google search:

I used scatter for the droplets/ice and the blizzard particle system for the beer bubbles. the foam is just a yellowish map with very fine noise, reflective with a little glossiness.

Nice. Do you have a plane to catch the reflections and shadows? My first impression was that the colors were too saturated and unreal, but after looking at it a while it looks close. Is your light as cool as the one in the real picture (more blue)? Scale and perspective look great.
