  • playing with house render

Hi. This is a personal project I did outside the firm I work for for an old friend. He needed this done in 1 day! So, it's not perfect, but to model and render in 1 day was tough. Did it on a Saturday. The client loved the watercolor version. I know the grass is wigged, and there's other things I know are wrong, but I thought it turned out half decent for a very fast project.

looks great. especially for 1 day!
how did you do the watercolour effect? photoshop?
the second one looks good. environment light only?
cool, 3rd image just loaded. looks really good. the 2nd looks a little dark to me. like it's overcast.. but nice.
the house has a lot of character. nice
    great work!

Another SketchUp user! I love the speed abilities that it offers. Can make many projects complete in a day. What else have you done with SketchUp?

Thanks for the comments. Glad you like it. Hurray for SU! You're right, the 1 day turnaround would have been a stretch w/out SU. The watercolor effect goes like this.

SU model > export to dwg (faces only) > render in Viz07 > Find nice view in SU > export some small object as 3ds from the scene, and check "export cameras from views" > import cameras to scene > render camera view in viz > export b/w line view from SU > overlay b/w over color render in PS > Apply watercolor filter Done!

I've been modeling just about all my stuff in SU, then dump to Viz for final.
