  • Coffee Lobby interior, need help

    (UPDATED images below)

    ok please be easy on me, it's my first post.

    IES Lights

    Render

    Sun

    C&C please

    Basically I'm looking to get a clean/tight look. In the above renders it seems the small tiny details get lost.

    Also I have no idea why I'm getting a reflection on the floor by the green leather chair - I purposely set the chair below floor level to test for light leaks and I get the same results when the chair is sitting on its posts...any ideas please share.

    are you using any specularity on your floor material? maybe a screenshot of your material would be helpful.

      I am using the Simian Wood Floor shader.

      Subdivs = 8
      Matte = Between Satin and Semi Gloss
      Reflection = 1.0
      IOR = 1.4
      Refl. depth = 5

        im not intimately familiar with that material, but it sounds like theres some faked specularity. you might try rendering without the faked specularity and see if that removes it.

          it could also be that your chair isnt casting shadows.
          Check the max properties of the chair

            Thanks for the replies ! The culprit was not having shadows turned on for one of the lights These renders are for a website where the client will add green screen'd people.

              Excellent work, I like them. The design seems almost steampunk inspired

              ...Ive just given myself an idea.

                  i think they look f**cking great.

                  only minor crits are i'd use area shadows, but that's just me, and they are a little bit grainy, but i think your overall feel is great. Really like the brick....
