thats nothing new, everyone use a normal blend materials for cars anyway, the only thing the new vrayblend mtl does better is speed I guess.

is it right to use blend materials ? i am using the "shellac method". are there any advantages when using blend materials?

maybe it's just me but with standard max shellac I couldn't achieve this kind of nice looking carpaint.

they exactly the way Master Vlado said they should be:

"A typical car paing material would be a VRayMtl as a base material, with diffuse and glossy components, and a VRayMtl with pure white mirror reflections and black diffuse as a coat material.

To adjust the strength of the mirror reflections, change the blend amount in the blend material.

In general, you should avoid the additive (shellac) mode - there is rarely any case where you would want it.

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado"
