  • My latest V-Ray stuff

    Hiya guys,

Here are some of my latest V-Ray rendered images for different assignments / employers:

The bright magenta color is not my choice, but it is the corporate color of T-Mobile, so I couldn't escape the color.

    Cheerio,

    Metin

Is this the Maxwell forum? Am I confused? It wouldn't be the first time.

        Thread hijack warning...
Old project of mine, used in production a while back.

30 seconds with fixed AA 1 (no AA) on an athlon 2Ghz 1g ram.
I can share the scene for the willing: raytrace material rendered with VRay.

Many thanks! And the thread hijack is no problemo Lele. It's nice to see your ice cube and the render time is amazing. Did you add some anti-aliasing afterwards for the project, in Photoshop or After Effects?

DaForce, the render time of my cube was relatively ok, as I've also managed to create an animation with it:

                    http://www.sevensheaven.nl/imagedeta...eltendijsblok/

I don't know exactly what the render time per frame was, but in a resolution of 400 x 300 pixels I guess it was not more than 20 minutes per frame.

Frances, you're flattering me! After working with Maxwell for a while I have really rediscovered V-Ray, and with the right settings (approaching Vlado's universal settings, but with some optimizations) you can achieve impressive realism with our good old V-Ray.

Aye, goes to three minutes with 1/4 adaptive qmc, around 1 minute with Adaptive Subdivs -1/2, .25 clr threshold, and object outline.
Not being animated in CG (was done with flame later on) i didn't need a hell of a lot of precision.
It's derived from a very old tutorial on making ice with scanline, so it's no apple falling from my tree. i just optimised the shader to be a tad quicker with vray.

Btw, really nice job on the packaging: very very "tactile" feel to it.
