The image looks really nice, your lightning is nice.
Try some displacement on the brown part of the stem to get a more organic feel,
Perhaps try and filter your reflection through some skratchy irregular map/bitmap
the crater in the grape for the stem shouldt be a top instead.
and yes, turn up the ssssssss effect.
            Hope it helps

              hi thanks all,

              @peterC:
there allready is displacement on the stem, think i have to turn it up a bit.
and yes you're right, the crater isn't inside, will change that.

yesterday evening i was more or less happy with the result, but as i look this morning on it...........hmmm

              will post update soon.

Your rendering looks great already. But it doesn't look like grapes. As mentioned before, you need way more SSS.
There are some kind of green crapes which have that shape, but I think most dark red crapes (Weintrauben) have a round shape - as seen on the reference pic.

Normaly I would expect to see more crapes on a branch. Just something like this:

                  Something about the geoemtry,

The way the grape joins the "trunk" imho should not be so depeend, grapes are mor like a balloon, the deepth of the joint make them look like prunes, or some other larger fruit... not sure that was clear enough.

                    well done Jonas,
I think that you could add a white plane behind the grap to have white reflexion on the behind/left of the graps (more like a studio settup).
this would add more realizm to the scene.
                    of course sss
                    =:-/

                      so next round.

more 3xs, and more redish ones.
i think they're looking too clean now, i can't get rid of those damn....

                      what dou you think?

                      Best regards

Hm - not bad. But now they look a bit like cherry.

Maybe it will look better if you put that blue-ish powder onto the fruits.

And shouldn't they hang on a green branch instead of a wooden branch? The wood makes it look like cherry or plum.

And i still believe that it would look more convincing if you place a dozent of them onto the branch.

If this was his original reference photo then I think the first render was closest. As for the ss, its how the light is hitting the grapes that determines how much ss there is. If there's no back light esp on the red grapes then there is little or no ss visible as in the reference photo above...
