though this is still not as complex as the interior/exterior rendering usually posted here, I thought I could post my candles

Both are supernumeraries for a - guess what - Christmas card and will be standing heavily blurred in the background.

I tried various ways of lighting. In the end I rendered this with a phyical camera and motion blur: the flame and a omni linked to a noise dummy to get blurry shadows.

I used also a hdri as skylight and reflection, it looked somewhat dull without it.
The image was leveled/desaturated in photoshop and the flames are bloomed.

Looking good. My only crit would be that the flames look to similar. Maybe a little variation would help.

      Thank you.

I forgot to enable the noise modifier on the flames

            Hello Georg ...

... thank you for the material. Unfortunately I'm getting an error "Error Loading ParamBlock2" when I open the .MAT file. I'm using Max7 and VRay V1.5R3.

I've also had that error sometimes when I tried to open materials from the VRay material website.

Maybe someone can tell me what the reason is and how I can avoid that error.

            Thank you ... Andreas.

my mat file is exported from max8.
              maybe this is the reason?

Unfortunately I cannot check that as no one here has Max8 installed ... too bad.

                Greetings ... Andreas.
