  • School interior

    Hi guys,

These images visualize the new interior of a school.

I think they came out really nice, but i'm curious what you guys think.

    I used max 7, and vray 1.47.03, IRR+LC

Yip, think they look pretty good!

To be technical - with such bright sun ligth and fast shutter speed, you would freeze people in motion without such motion blur.

Thanks for your reply, I think you're right about the motion blur, but I made them a bit blurry so they would not grab all the attention. That dude in the second image is looking quite angry for example. :P

at f/22 with a 100 iso film, it is still possible to have motion blurred people And if you still have too much light, you may still put a filter on your lens

About the projet, i like the clean look of the images. I wish I had such school when I was younger Is it a private school ?

No, I'm still working with vray 1.47.03, so I used a direct light for the sun, and some vraylights in the windows and in the lamps in the ceilling.

Not wanting to split hairs here, but this photo was taken at a 10th of a second and the blur on the people is not close to what we see in the renderings. I really don't think you going to get close to to such a slow shutter speed with that lighting.

                  Nice rendering.

I've just done some renderings for a school, and an architectural photographer told me you always have to blur school children out when taking shots - something about privacy acts....

nice plants - are they models?
If so where did you get them, or did you model them yourself?

Those are fabulous - except for the blurry people.

About that privacy, that's true. You have to have permission from the parents of every child before you can use the photo's.

The plants come from Evermotion, I tweaked them a bit.

That's right but you don't need authorization if :

                        - You cannot recognize the child / person
                        or
                        - If it's for private use
                        or
                        - If the child/person is not the main subject of the picture, or is not in the foreground

very nice, I like the brightness of those pictures, that is how school should be.
technical note: the place where wall meets ceiling should be visible as a distinct line, unless wall does not pierce the ceiling tiles.

about privacy: when i go out to a school or walk down the street and take random photos the privacy act applies, right? but if i buy the same photos i does not matter how i use them right?

I occasionally blur my people if it is warranted. However those ppl are really uniformly blurred it just stands out as bad, pity when the rest of the scene is great. Ie the foot on the ground should not be blurred much while the other foot is usually the fastest moving object.

Everything about these images is great except the blurred kids. They are located in positions that upset the composition and distract the viewing of the image.
