    lovely feel about it.

Carpets seem to always look a bit fake, is it using vray fur?

    Well done

Thanx, carpet is not vray fur, but vraydisplacement, and a noise map.

          i like it!
still it might be lacking somewhat more contrast between lit and sahded areas and the outside seems to need much more light to match the interior!

          sory to be picky!
          good job nevertheless!

Thanks all, I do agree with the little lack of contrast, I might fix that later. That S-curve works well indeed.

Pixellab, I think I downloaded the floor texture from some free texture site, and made the bump myself.
We just ordered some nice floor materials form arroway.de, so i'm still waiting for them!

Anyway, I uploaded the floor material so you can use it yourself: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=NKU7H3BO

aah, so much light! i love it!

forgive me if you feel this is a rude question, but does the lighting consist of only vraylights in the windows + sun, or did you 'help' the lighting in any way?

thanks a lot for your floor material!

only crits i can add is a little crude AA, but i'm guessing its' a result of catmull - great work!

Thanks a lot ! ... but i can't download the file the link doesnt seem to wark ...

One of my co workers did a small crit about your image: it seems that you have some volume light effect, is it correct ? Maybe, if it's done in post pord, you can tray to suppress it to gain more contrast...

Because i'm still using vray 1.47... there is a direct light working as the sun, and vrayligths in the windows. I made the image a little brighter in post.

The crude AA is because I resized the image (original is 3000px wide), and sharpened it a bit, in the high-res it looks fine.

Hmm.. link works fine here.. You have to enter some letters, and the download begins.

The volume light was indeed done in post, I really like this effect of the light falling in, but i do have to pay for it with less contrast. let me try your suggestion.

Here's the interior with some contrast added (S-curve):

hmm.. don't know. I like this one, but the other one has a softer feel to it.
