    hi teabag,

    the bottle is a vraymat with normal-map as bump. about the subdiv. i dond't really know to be honest, can have a look when having the scene by hand.
    i've turned on both refl./refr. caustics.
    when you set samplesize = 0 ppt will render unbiased. but to be honest here are many profs who can explain better than me.

      hmm thats a bit strange. or maybe its not strange, but i thought when working with caustics i do have to turn off "affect shadows".
      but this seems to solve the problem with these black areas there.

      edit:

      ok, it solves the problem with these black areas, but refractive caustics are gone. but when i turn it off again, black areas appear. and i allready raised up max depht to 99.

        interesting approach for glass bump: normal-map as bump - what have u used? z brush or anything external?....do u think that noise map would have the same effect?
