  • Some recent work. C&C's please!

It's been a while since my last post so I thought I'd post some recent work to get another trained eye on these things. Personally, I'm pretty happy with these images and it's amazing how much my work has changed from a year ago, due in large part to the discussions on these forums . All are LWF and VRay sun (some are vray camera as well but it depended on the shot). Enjoy and as always c&c's are welcome...

    Great!!!

Only comments is #3 seems a little washed out. Everything else is pretty much perfect altho your cars could use a little bit more realism to finish off the scene. Other than that it's pretty superb.

      All very nice!

Only critique is the people in the first image look a bit plastic, the people in the second image however are very convincing.

very nice work, i would tighten the displacement maps in 2nd image , add a driver to your blue car in last image and twigs on tree if you want to get that close.

          Wonderfull images!!

I agree with Juju about the cars tho. Need abit of improvment to keep up with the rest of the image.

Great work Dave. The attention to detail in the vegetation, cars, people, etc, as well as the superb lighting makes for some very atmospheric images.

very nice. The lighting and materials are great. I think adding some reflections to your glass could help a little and some good 3d car models should be the next purchase me-thinks! It'll make a big difference. The people have come out nice - AXYZ?

                      Thanks.

Thanks for everyone's comments . I've been struggling with cars lately in that I used to use mainly the low polygon 3d ones. They were fine for parking lots and such but don't really hold up too well at close range (like in the fourth image). I've just bought some of the dosch cars and have had pretty good luck but I've been slow to convert them to vray materials and LWF.

The people are all AXYZ people, a mix of the Metropoly 1 and 2 (the 2's are way better IMO).

Rerender: Look closer, it's the same people! I'm lazy sometimes.

Momentum: The displ. in the second image was meant to be some type of ground cover, i.e. not grass. At the time I was on Viz 2007 so I could have done a scatter object with some leaves but this was way quicker and the client was happy. Now that I'm on max I'd probably go with a PF object which is what the ground cover is in the first image.

                          David-

Very nice work, the only thing I notice are the shadows from the tree on the silver car in the first image. Seem a little dark, would they be that dark on a reflective mettalic??? Hey, we should do lunch sometime.
