the second one is better, but i think that you should have made two or three different cookie-textures.
I think that its a bit to easy to see that ist the same cookie but rotated.
(at least I think it looks like it)

I did it in post. it's much easier. just a slide in photoshop.
I was just looking at the image on a CRT (I work on a LCD) and the colors are really saturated.
How often does this come up when you send work to people and they don't have their monitors calibrated correctly. How do you convince people they don't have their machines set right or do you?
I correct the color to fit the CRT (I'll post it in a bit) and it looks pretty good on the LCD so is that the solution? don't trust the LCD?
I think the cookies could use a bit more roughness to them. The edges that are cracks to the internals of the cookie shouldn't be smooth, it makes the cookies look half-baked.
