  • Hotel Living Room

    Hi All!

Here are some images of a project we have just finished. We should have done a WIP post but time is a key factor
We would still like to have your constructive criticism to improve our style! We might be getting more areas to show off if the client is happy.

The client is looking to re-style his hotel interior. It's a "long stay" Hotel so full comfort is provided.

    Looking forward to your comments!

      really quite nice.

Great detail in the modelling and materials. I am still a little unconvinced by the curtains though - I don't know that they seem to sag naturally at the bottom. The couch material seems a bit cartoonish compared to the rest also. Other than that the lighting seems pretty nice too. I think a night shot would be good with this image - something with a bit more contrast -more light and dark to punch it up a bit - probably more a personal thing for me though

          I'm Krul's modelling buddy!

          Hi Pete! : )

I agree, the bottom of the curtains are unrealistic... had rough time trying to get them to what they are... the cloth simulator kinda piles everything up so I hand modeled it... : / not so good... the client wanted them to droop... I tried to tell him that they would get dirty but no go

The bump on the couch is out.. you're right! You're eye is well trained!

          Thanks for the constructive critisism...

          here's a night shot...

good luck with finding hills in the UK Pete! : ) try heading off west on the M40 and take exit 6 ... Lewknor has a nice sunset hill!...

Nice Job! Great attention to detail. I especially like the night render. Do you mind sharing your basic light settings?

                      Nicely done. Looks good.

The night show however to me looks to evenly light. Given there are only a few light sources in the room.

True Da Force... the shot was put together rather quickly for fun rather than for the client... so it's mainly lit by the GI Environment, it was left at the same setting as for the day shots so I agree things could be more contrasted...with a bit of tweaking...

thanks for your time and input!

as for the light settings you asked for MHenry...

add to that Vray Plane lights at each window ...

                        Hope that answers your "question"
