    much obliged.

    Thanks everyone!

This was a pet project of ours, done entirely in our free time (we all know how that is). We started concepting over 9 months ago and drug our feet on it forever (no pun intended). I textured the shoe first in MR and wasn't feeling it. Scrapped that. Textured it again in Brazil a couple months later, wasn't feeling the ice in that. Scrapped that and when we purchased V-Ray for a job that was coming in, I decided to give it a shot on the piece. It worked out and since we were launching our new ID at somersault, we kinda MADE ourselves finish the piece. We had already blocked camera a while back so all we had to do was fifnish the lighting and render out our shots. Comping took about three days. So whalla.

The liquid was all done by our in house RealFlow expert Amador Valenzuela. The steam was krakatoa (Mark Theriault). The model wasn't that heavy (don't remember exactly what the poly count was). The DOF was all done in post. We have some behind the scenes stuff at our website www.somersault.tv in the diversions page. We also may be breaking down the comp in an FXGuide PHD class so keep yer eyes peeled.

Is it warm there? Cuz this Chicago spring is a bit chilly this year.

                      That was seriously awesome! Beautiful.

Something else: This one and the Saab commercial that was just posted both show the importance of a good soundtrack. Something that is often taken for granted.
