this is the latest one... hope they like it, and you too!!
i know this is abit run from the reality, but i am looking for a
dramatic visual, i hope i am going the right path!
thanks again guys, really appreciate your help!!
thanks daforce
and i have to agree too!!!! at first i really like the second shot... angle and all.... but at the end, i feel that the first one is more managable in ps..hehehe by the way, i am going to try the second one. again. and da force, do you know how to make those foams on each tip of the waves? thanks
You could use a simple UVW map to kinda of clip the top of the waves and then blend in a foam map or just a white vray mtl, you could do a similar thing with like a slightly modified version of the bim[/displacement map that you used to get the waves.
hey thanks guys...
infrared digital: for the material is very simple
for the red/orange color, i put falloff, with the perpendicular/parallel type, each slot i put color correct, in the empty slot i put bitmap, steelplt.jpg (max default bitmap), and play with the color. for me, the orange tone, i got it from ticking the mono, and play with the saturation at the hsv space. that's all... hsv 97 percent, hue 0 (this is for the first slot on the falloff parameter)
and for the second slot the same thing at the first slot, i only change the gamma to 0.5 and the saturation at the hsv space to 95
for the grey part, no falloff, just steelplt.jpg in the color correct source slot, put gamma to 1.2, and that's it. reflection (grey v:13
reflection glossines 0.7
subdivision 8
i am using vray 3d displacement (i am using max 9 now, and uninstall my max had to ask my friend to download the water plugins from the web, render it with max 8 from top with falloff material (distance blend), emailed the targa to me, i change to jpeg and put it in the 3d displacement slot, and put material, dark greenish blueish color in the bitmap, white reflection with fresnel, white refraction with dark green fog with amount of 0.1, ior i change to 1.3 to both of them, a mix map under bump, noise and inverted smoke, put a vray plane plain grey material 40 meter below the water plane.
