  • my mission: CAR PAINT.

I was strugling with car paint material for a loooong time. I was starting and giving up. I wanted to create material tha will look very good not only with studio setup but whatever the secene will be. I also wanted it to be simple so you change color and bum god a nice car. And I think I did it . No post, just pure vray render . Vray Camera, Vray Sky and Sun. Model is not mine, only materials. For now it's all I can tell you .

and after a bit of PS work:

looks good Car paints are simple though, once you get the hang of it. Just a base diffuse (falloff) metallic layer (blurry colored reflection, falloff) and a clear layer (falloff). Just got to get the values right to match your particular paint! Looks like you got the values pretty good! Maybe a slight bit to orange in the metallic, but that could be the Vray sun doing that as well.
