It's quite flat - you don't see too many photos where the outdoors and indoors are well exposed due to the sky being so bright by comparison to indoor bulbs (Aside from overcast days) so I'd either make it more of an evening background plate or blow out the image a little bit more.
If I could spend some time on the model I would take the orange out of the BG image, alter the lighting to a bright sunny day, change the materials on the sofas and curtains, possibly a good leather material on the couch and a lighter material on the curtains, swap the painting for a flatscreen TV and maybe turn on the lamp in the corner. Have you checked out vray-materials.de yet? Im sure theres some good leather on there somewhere if you wanted to have a play with your materials. A bit of tweaking and it will look much better.
In the thread of the sun and sky video tutorial, there are a few discussions on interior scenes, and how they look like when pictured, versus when rendered.
hi, nice image there,
but i was thinking like this:
anyway, it's soflight (desaturate), screen (desaturate) abit of gradient overlay and hardlight. i didn't save the psd. but that description should do it.
I would prefer this rendered only with the Sun, the spotlights, kill the area feeling of the outcoming light. I am sure with the Sun only , the scene would gather much better depth. The angle is very propreate.
