  • First Internal WIP

    Hi All,

This is my first internal with the Sun/Sky system and Physical Camera:

    Shot at 2007-07-09

Sun/Sky is the only light source

    Camera settings:
    f-number 8.0
    Shutter speed 100
    film ISO 200

    Irr Map - medium preset
    Light cache - subdivs 1200

    Override material is grey 200

All other settings are default, and I'm using LWF.

I would be grateful for any comments you may gave on this (is the furnitre floating etc) before I move on to texturing.

    Thanks in advance,

    Trev

From my experience everything changes when you add materials. I usually wait until everything is texture mapped before I light my scene so don't get false hopes.

You're right Bobby. I have here an old scene of mine that I've begun to texture. Settings this time:

      f-number 8
      shutter 100
      ISO 200

Irradience Map - medium preset (20hspsubs)
      Light Cache - 1200 sudivs

      Reinhard - burn .75

Again only the Sun/Sky system for lighting. Any comments most welcome.

glorybound is spot on. Unless you keep the white walls, your lighting is going to be pretty dark once everything is textured.

          Hi Percy,

The second image is fully textures now - walls are slightly off white plaster finish. I would like some feedback prior to adding furnishings.

          Thanks.

nice renders. nice lighting. it's nice to see monochrome renderings as they highlight the form well.

              Interior

I am not pro on interiors, but I might lower the shutter speed a tad.

Where can I found this scene please? on the web I mean, cause I need those old chairs and I have already seen the scene somewhere.
                I can't remember

A 128 grey material works well for light balance before materialing, in conjunction with the per-pixel color information provided by the VRay FB(right-click and hold over image in the VRay FB). Just get your area of interest as near to 128 RGB output as possible...then it won't matter what textures you use in your scene, because your textures will come out very close in value to what you are putting them in as.

Pretty sure this should work universally, independent of your choice in method as long as you follow the same rules for the card material as you would with any of your other materials.

this works pretty well. Also, as long as your lighting is done correctly for the physical camera, then just reexposing your camera post texturing gets you pretty close.

Priad, its an old scene that was on EVERMOTION ages ago.

You might still be able to find it.
I "may" have it somewhere but would be easier to find on evermotion I think.
Have a look in there tutorials section of search their forums.
