  • End presentation of student project

    Hi all,
Long time didn't posted anything. Here is my end presentation for our student project - art gallery - bridge with a Mobiusstrip band form.
Modeled in Rhino, Rendered in MAX with V-ray of course
It was harder to make the drawings - floor plan and sections

Very bizarre image. Is the art gallery inside the bridge or at one end? What course is the project for if you dont mind me asking?

nice renders. seems like it could be a bit bit brighter for an outdoor daytime scene.
di you use linear workflow? i'm juts getting into it, and it can be confusing while learning it, but it's a good method and helps workflow/realism of scenes.

i like the grass material on the hump. the grass on the right doesn't look as good, though.- tiling visible on the map.

nice images. funky design. can imagine the sections being quite a mission to create.

nice job. the metal seems awfully dull though. But then I dont know what kind of metal it is.

Nice renders? Nice job? Are you guys seeing the same image as me? Ive already pm'd 3dkad earlier and said the bridge design was pretty good but overall as a 3d image it looks a bit of a rushed PS job. He even mentioned he had little time on it and there are some PS bits hes not happy with such as the hill to the left and the sections where the ground meets the water. If you look at the other images on his website this ones not even in the same ballpark.
Sorry if i sound like a prat but praise where its deserved, if not then say so.

i'm just curious how you make the holes? opacity map, or boolean mesh?

well I only saw the first image also, but I dont think its terrible. Remember he's a student, not a seasoned professional with years of experience. If he was, I'd a ripped him a new one! lol naw, j/k.

                  Hi guys...thanx for the reply.
I know that you are very expireinced professionalists here. I don't mean to be very good so far...
I am doing it, and i am earning with it not so bad...
May be i haven't introduced myself good with topic "First Post" or so...
Here is my second image - very conceptional image from the space, so that it could be...

The holes are made with map in the oppacity channel, and the volume is Nurbs... May be mistake by modeling, but it was so...

The grass overall is V-ray displacement. PS is the Background, the people and the border between water and grass...

So i am open to the critic and i would take it with opened mind, cause that's the way one could learn something.

I'll post another topic to introduce myself, if u would be interested to see my skills.
Many thanx for the replies once again.
                  Best Regards: Kiril

Yeah man, second image is sweet! Like i said earlier i love the design of the bridge - i can see it in london crossing the Thames or something. Im glad it hasnt got similar holes in the floor (smaller of course) cause vertigo wouldnt allow me to walk through it! Pretty complex model to create i think i would struggle with it and ive been modelling for years (sadly not on the catwalk..). A couple of small things that would improve the image, be great to see some environment outside, and i know you've opacity mapped the holes but thickness to the walls would be better - something your tutor might be able to advise on if your not sure?
I look forward to seeing more of your stuff bro!
