What do you think about this?

I have some trouble getting the hdri backdrop look ok. Tried to render it in at first but it looked terrible. And I am not sure wich way to go with this. Is it to set it as a environment map or in a cylinder or what do you recommend?

I did this composistion in post. The best way would obviously be to set the backdrop at rendertime since that will help with the reflections.

Please point me in the right direction.

Of course comment away on the rest of the image please.

    Some comment:

The persective of the background does not match the image, which is very off putting.
There is no refelction on the glass.
The floor tiles look to big.
The pot plants pot looks to small for the plant.

Yep that plant pot is too small!

To answer your question you dont need the background in your scene at rendertime, any reflections from the environment will only appear on the outside of the glass anyway. Well actually you would get slight reflections in the table top and floor tiles but only if there was something to reflect right up close to the outside of the building. Your best bet is to comp it in as you have done.

Do you need the lights on in a day shot? Those bulbs look odd.

        Thank you for your replys.

I can agree with the pot. Have to adjust that a bit.

I understand that you think that but actually the surrounding is just like you see it there. On the right there is a big river andno buildings. So that is correct.

Well look out through a window in the daytime. There is close to no reflections visible at all. There is some faint refelctions in the back though.

The floor tiles look to big.
Point taken. But that is really up to the client and in my opinion I like those big massive tiles.

Thanks. Will give some more work on that.

Ehh... Yes the bulbs is a shortcut. They are just VRay lights and no model. Point taken!

        Will redo and do right.
