    hi guys

i'm trying to do an indoor night-scene with a tv on.
    the tv-light is made of a vraylight-material.
should i use a seperate vraylight to avoid the splotches or do i have
to change some settings in the irrmap/LC?
    comments are appreciated, thanks.

    regards ale

yes that will get rid of the splotches or change to QMC for first pass.
    Reflect, repent and reboot.
    Order shall return.

For a shot light that putting a vraylight infront is a better option.

And as tammo said it will get rid of the splotches without the need for high render times. Or switching to QMC which would generally end in high render times.

Another alternative is using vraylight plane in front of the TV, with skylight portal ON.

This is how i'd do it, the colours it gives off will match whats on the tv then.

              hi ale

in irrmap take the high preset and set the min/max to -6/-1.
I promise the splotches will disappear.

              best regards

very cool rendering! nice texture & lighting mood

water a bit too calm for me, looks kinda like glass. Maybe add a bit glossiness, or add more ripples?

this one went under the radar a bit...good render of a nice space...are they wires running overhead?

the glass like calm of the water is what makes it...but maybe you'd very rarely get water that calm in reality....
