Some new work.

Greetings all.

Here is a new movie, one of a series of six, we have just finished for Urban Splash. The movies focus on different aspects of their new development, called Saxton. The Gnome concept was developed by Union North for the web launch, audio by Radium.

We have completed six films over six or so weeks. Props to the small team of five that touched on all different films.

As the other films arnt so Vray intensive, heres the link to the YouTube page. Where all six will live, once they are all uploaded.

I'm sorry, I just don't get this approach to marketing the building. The colors are dull and the characters are emotionless in contradiction to the "be happy" message in the text. Not to mention the building looks like a prison block. If I were someone buying an apartment, these ads would not appeal to me. No offense. Was this approach taken because the architecture is so nondescript and lifeless? This is ending up to be more of a criticism on the architecture than on the animations. Although, the colors do seem like there could be more saturation and brightness.

Regardless of the approach, the renders are fantastic - I quite like the whole idea, and I bet uniform are planning their next move already

Was the second one done in max with imported illustrator files, or was it done in post over a background?

granted the architecture isnt the best, but its a revamp of a tired old 50's tower block. just seems better to do this than a boring flythough that seems to be the norm. We are trying to shift the focus away from the tiny flats, and more about the lifestyle. You can only work with what you got. As ffot the saturation, your probably right for screen, but on teli they are always brighter.

yes im sure uniform will be watching it at some point. Although no disrepect, they produce more polished and more soul less animations. But they do a great job at the polish.

As for the second one. It was illustrator drawings all mapped onto planes, and rendered in one huge pass. all the animation was done is after effects and mapped back on.

That makes sense now. Remodeling old buildings can be extremely tough. It's usually one of those "It is what it is" situations.

Cool 3d, althought there was a fair amount of flickering GI.

think thats the compression! lots of small moving stuff doesnt fair too well



the rabbit fur was max hair and fur, and ended up being 250,000 hairs or there abouts with a fair few attempts and about 30mins a frame. the key was a good light rig of spots around the character, then doubling the layer in post to harden the edges a little. this was then comped over the base (naked) rabbit which was rendering in MR with fast SSS for a little light. Would have loved a bit more time on it, but it was only there for a few secs in total.

I guess you sell real estate this way, because everyone else markets it like it is Brylcream in 1955, and haven't learned a thing from Donald Trump, or any other successful advertising campaign for any product in the last 50 years.

Thank the lord someone is doing something different and pushing the conversation, it helps all of us have broader avenues to explore.

My absolute favorite touch is the screen wipes on the website being wind...really well thought out, consistent and clever. Great Job.
