Spent about 4 hours on this a while ago trying to learn how to model properly... Stumbled across the model again, and thought i'd render it because I was bored.

Ideally, i'd do a real body, fill in the extra details ive missed and do the whole guitar... but it's probably not going to happen any time soon.

First thing ive done outside of work in over a year too... whoops.

    hi

nice shaders, but i would personally rotate some of your uvw mapping so you dont get so many repeats.. but nice render ..

Nice Render. Floyd - Rose Tremolo systems Rule! I had one on a Ibanez I used to own. That thing never went out of tune.

Natty - what repeats do you mean?

Mhenry - I do love them, fine if you want to stay in the same tuning for 6 months, but if you even think about trying to adjust it...

As nice as they are, I dont think I can be bothered with another one.

          Hi cubiclegangster
it was the back screws i was refering to, but looking closer it looks like the reflection from the hdri.. love the strings!!

thats a really nice rendering! The treble strings would shine like chrome though. Unless you never change your strings.

Brilliant texture mate... *cough* settings *cough*

Able to show a wireframe of your model or a gray lowpoly edgetex render .
Im always keen to see how people poly model things. Different techniques and all you know

The 'body' in that render is a slightly curved plane with the hole cut in it... I think its about 1m x 2.5m, haha.

Daforce: I'll post one up, but bear in mind its an absolute mess. This was the first time ive modeled something trying to stick to quads & meshsmooth. I know I need to get good at it, but I'm still in winging it territory.

Carlangas: it is a floyd rose after all... I'd never re-string it if I didnt have to

hehe its all good. I start years ago from looking at zuliban's wires. Now its 2nd nature. But still like to see and compare other peoples work.

                            Meshsmooth iterations set to 1:

I tried doing that object in the FG for ages... just couldnt figure it out and got too stressed, so I fucked it off and did it the easy way
