  • Nerm Animation Shot Stills

Hello, I've been working on an animated short, 'The Chronicles of Nerm', for a few years now and have recently began getting a few of the final shots rendered out with some help from the VRay forums here (in removing a lot of flickering and flashing!). The final animation will have 6 sets, over 10 characters and will be 7 or 8 minutes long.

You can see more stills, characters, ect on my website www.cwanimation.com, as well as the original Nerm film ('Chronicles' will be the sequel).

Thanks for the help here on the forums with my rendering issues. Here are a few frames of one of the finished rendered shots.

yes, totally awesome, what was your approach to the slight specular bloom on the bright spots, is it done post rendering using something like PS, or with a rendering plug in, or something in vray (if you don't mind me asking), image quality and atmosphere is amazing, nice work!

The specular bloom was added in in post using Combustion, the 'Glow' modifier thing I believe.

        Thanks for the nice comments!

Ive been trying to fault your renders for a while now in some last ditch effort to make me feel better about myself, but i'm having a pretty hard time.

Looking forward to seeing the finished thing.

Those look awesome! I look forward to seeing the clip.
Did you composite your background with your characters in post production or were they rendered together?

Great work! I love the eyelids and the small rust areas on her? body and head. That painted metal material is amazing. (It is painted metal, right?)

                      Thanks everyone

She was rendered seperately from the background, yes.

Yes... and some of it is even hand painted and scanned into the computer (decals on her)
