    hello there

i thought i'd show another work i did recently.
these ones rendered really quick despite the use of DOF.
i don't remember the exact render-times, but i'll render it again just to be sure that it rendered fast.

    greetings
    ale

A question regarding the blue wall.............

Did you use the Vray Override material to control the colour bleeding, and do you use it (like me) for most of your materials now?

        Thanks

          hi guys

thanks for your words. i really appreciate it!
for the blue walls: this one does not use the override mat.
i usally do it with the white walls or the pavement/floor.

@Pixelab: i could only give the geometry if you like.

I don't understand why the blue wall has not bled onto the white walls if you have not adjusted the GI material slot of the blue wall. Perhaps you can explain for me.

            Thanks

              hi tct

the texture/color is quite desaturated and again i use the LWF and therefore the textures are loaded with a gamma of 2.2
here is a downsized sample of the texture used for the blue wall.

              hope i could help you.

Ok I think I'm beginning to understand...................

How do you prepare your textures to be gamma corrected. Is this within Photoshop, and if so how?

Sorry to be a pain, but it appears I may have missed something fundamental with my LWF setup.

                Thanks again

                  no problem mate.
i tend to use desaturated colors from the beginning for texture-creating.
the textures are loaded within max with the 2.2 option in the gamma/LUV settings (i think you already have this activated too).
so no need to do other convertions outside of max.

I will look into this as I seem to get much more bleeding. I really do appreaciate your help in this.

If you don't mind I may keep posting next week as it's beer time now.

                    Have a good weekend!

I am not sure, but it looks like you have a little chromatic abberation - i look at the edges of the wall/ceiling in the dof'ed background.

If i am correct, how did you achieve this effect? I like it a lot.

                        Nice renderings - Cheers!

                          hi stupendousman

you're right about the chromatic abbe.
this effect is done in post with PS.
                          there's a filter in the 'distortion'-filters category; i think it's called 'object-correction' or something.
it's used to reduce/eliminate pinching/vignetting/perspective distortion and abbe from fotos.
but i missuse actually to add the abbe effect to renderings.
                          hope this helps.

edit: thanks ene.xis for the spelling =)
