I am trying to simulate unibiased rendering like fry or maxwell using vray with dome light and one point light without GI.

Let me know what you think.

    interresting approach.

Looks halfway between real photo with flashlight and a realtime game engine - sometjing like UE3 or D3 engine.
I kinda miss the soft shadows in the corners and concave areas - maybe a bit of a dirt layer?

Cool............does look like a photo with a flash.

Would you explain the process in a little more detail if you get the chance.

I think it looks great, maybe a little less of a straight edge on the corner (Stone) that is near middle of picture.

It was just quickly test with the last scene i've been posted.
Only dome light with color of white (little grey) + one point light slightly over camera in direction to fireplace illuminate the scene.
            GI is turned off
I was trying to simulate photo with flash like unibiased render but this was quickly done in 9 min for 1200 x 800 px on X5355...
            Not bad for vray!

Surely it's "photo" realistic - although the photo from an instant camera.

It is just a quick test without GI.
For me was a interresting and different approach to render.
It is what it is, nothing special...

Yup - the unbiased renderers do use gi in this case so you'd need to use progressive path tracking to get a result like fry.

i double that...if ur goal is to compare with an unbiased renderer then u ll have to use GI...imo
