Are there only one type of a tree - instances? or some different types?
For one tree - it`s no problem, but when you have about 15-20 types of trees (3-5 Mpoly each) ...

Old Onyx exports made years ago.
There are only 3 differents trees exported as VRayMesh and instanced.
Then I have assigned a radom transform and material (5 differents materials) to the 5800 instances.

                        Yhen I have press RENDER

                          thanks

This would be a short animation, and not a still images... so I will see if I displace something, but what is certain is that I will use motion blur and since I m a bit short in term of memory (only 1Gb left), I m not sure to use things like displacement, fur etc...
                          I will see.

looks great! now turn on area shadows for your sun, and see if it still renders so quick.

Is there a script that can assign the materials randomly or how did you do that?
