  • Simple House

Here is a simple house... a job we actually lost to a client. We have a marketing department that I think lives in the dark and they do not appreciate the work I do for them. My task is to create several styles of the same scene. I did a water color for them and they flipped over it. I am going to take this same scene and do a water color, the water color filter you see, and a plain card board look rendering. I'll attach times and cost along with these styles and present it to them. Here are the photo realistic and the photo realistic with a water color filter. I'll post the others as I go.

Oh ya.... this is the same department that said nobody searches the internet for services and they are happy advertising in the yellow pages. We have a site that isn't optimized for anything and I have been ranting for 4 years. When I was contemplating my move from Chicago to Brainard, MN and one of my wife's friend mentioned this company I could find them on the internet for the life of me. I personally e-mail marketing every several month with search queries of terms that could be potential clients... I never hear a word. Oh well... I am just venting. Here are the images.

Looking realy nice! Nice use of DOF. You might concider adding some pink into your sunlight to match your background image. Nice work! Where do you get your sky images?

      Ooh, nice. Tons of style

Only thing that bothers me a bit is the green of the pine tree, not that it is wrong so much , just that it draws the eyes. I might try desaturating it a bit.

I am not sure were I got that sky, but is a sky dome and if I remember correctly it was a free download. I have a couple, but this is the only one with a tree skyline.

Here it is! 3056dome.jpg found at http://www.1000skies.com/partials/index.htm

Thanks. The tree is a Bionatics tree. It doesn't look to green to me, but I am a tad bit green/red color blind.

Here is the more stylistic version of the same model.

I dont know why but I like the first one, even though it has a slight 'pixar' feel to it if you know what i mean. Really like the other two as well although im not a fan of style filters. I would hate to create a nice image and have a client make me turn it inot a pencil sketch.

The photoreal one looks great. Can you share your displacement settings for the stone? I have been trying and failing to get a realistic stone wall using displacement....

You can follow this link, which talks about stone.

It is all in the texture maps. Well, I am finding that a good image is all about good modeling, lighting, textures, and composition. One with any of the other will make an image weak.
