    Hey guys,

This is a new personal work i finished.

I worked on this for quite a while (on and off for several months in between normal work) and had the idea in my head for even longer. the bathroom was finished first wich wasn't very hard, but then came the challenge of creating a reasonable realistic shark wich at least is good enough to give the emotion of fear and power when looking at the image.

After that i had to make the water wich was quite difficult to get to the right look. The water in the bath is made with mudbox and the spray is made with particles in max. Its supposed to be a freezeframe as if you stopped time. So thats why there is no motion blur on anything. I did use some DOF post effects in phtoshop.

The duck is powered into the air by the attacking shark, just so you know why it is there (since it is a rubber duck and offc cant move by itself )

    I tried to create a semi-realistic/stylized image.

I realy hope you guys like it and offcoarse crits and comments are welcome.

    Greets,

    Niels Sinke

Awesome, relly cool and the concept is very good.

What in my opinion could be better done is the water (but i don´t know how ) apart from the shape itself i really think that adding some motion blur to the drops could add realism and speed to the scene.

But as said before, two thumps up from me.

Speaking of turntable, this shot is screaming for some bullet-time camera action.

                        Nicely done. I love it.

                        Best regards,

                        A.

                          @ Aldaryn:

Hehehe do you want me and my computer dead?? i think it wont be possible since it absolutely wont render the scene with al the objects at once.... especially the water spray is hell to render..... i can try but i dont think it wil work. Also i always extensively photoshop the images from max so if i had to reproduce the max render to this using after effects or any other package i would be busy for some months. But hell mabey i fugure something out...

turntable finished rendering and is coming soon.

                          greets,

Turntable turned out very nicely! The static caustics gives it a nice frozen mood.

Of course, I was kidding with the bullet time, but seeing that you actually have the whole stuff in one scene together, it just might be a good idea. Just pan the camera a bit, turn around the shark a little, reduce framesize, maybe tweak raytracer system settings, and let a few dozen frames run for a couple of weekends. Even if it's just several seconds in the end, it will give great difference, and it's pretty cool to see your work come alive that way. Like the shark on the turntable.

                              Best regards,

                              A.
