  • Xbox360 Blockbuster artwork

    Hey,

This is a artwork i recently finished for a marketing campaign for Microsoft's Xbox360. The meaning of this was to show how many blockbuster games there are. The Marketing materials using this artwork have been put in stores November 12 and consist out of smal flyers to big standee boards.

I had about 2 weeks to get from concept to final artwork and since they wanted it on stande boards they needed the render to be 10.000x10.000 pixels wich was quite a challenge.

I was given a concept to work from and this came out of it.

It was alot of fun to make and hope you like it.

Comments are welcome and even though they already used the artwork and liked it i want to know what you guys think.

    Wow awesome!
I hate all the publicity, marketing and media attention surrounding the xbox and especially all the talk at work between the guys who have one - because ive never been a gamer but im starting to really really want one now! COD4 looks wicked. Damn.

Fantastic work, Niels, paricularly in relation to the actual size
I, personally, wouldn't mind a bit tighter crop- but that's a personal thing.

Did you do the sparcs in Vray?
Could you show a small detail crop from the actual size?

        To Zoranm:
The company that comissioned this artwork had alot of options to put it on different marketing materials. Because of this they wanted to have an sqaure artwork where they could do anything with it regarding to cropping it. They used horizontal and vertical croppings and i wil upload a real size cropping as well as an example of the standee board and the original concept.

The whole render is in vray but i had to use a script to cut the render in parts as it just wouldnt render on my quadcore machine (although i have 32bit so my 4gig ram isnt recognized correctly) The Actual render is split into 16 parts and i put them together in photoshop. The particles are done in scanline because i find that image motion blur was enough for this image and faster than in vray especially regarding the huge size. I also rendered the particles in lower resolution than the actual render since they were going to be blurred anyways.

        thnx for the nice words

I'd really like to know who did the concept art... cause there are two rather silly mistakes in the text on the bottom of the image.

The standee looks really good. Especially with the two games sticking out.
