move the camera to the right against the wall perhaps and try the sun from the right also.

more plants... and a better stone texture for the ground.

Looking good. I would dirty it up at least with an AO pass, or if time, by finding dirtier maps, or painting dirt into the maps. In particular on the concrete wall, especially around the ivy.

Also, it might help to add some displacement to the grass, or maybe try it with vray fur.

          yeah!
one can t never displace too much!
also pay attention to the mapping of the concrete and the stone tiling.
the ivy looks a little weird imo...too stiff?
other then that it looks prety cool!

yeah i agree that the two front most ivy will have to be redone...
maps...yes the concrete needs some more dirt on it...however the travertine tiles on the facade r in the right position (or so as i have to use fixed dimension of the tiles) ..i might add a little bump to it though later on

anyway....i have rerendered it now...but found out that by turning the reflective caustics on, i am receiving some strange light spots here and there..the most apparent one is on the concrete wall...
...whats worse is that now due to those refractive caustics i am receiving soem strange "dust like" noise on the image...if u look closely u will see it...can anyone tell me how to get rid of it and how to get a nice looking reflective caustics into the scene without those two bugs?

thanks and here is anothere render

Clifton: maybe a dumb question, but how do i make just an ambient occlusion pass and how do i comb it together?

the way i understand it is that perhaps i make the model all white with dirt material on it and then pring it to PS as a black and white image and use it as a layer whith alpha (the same image but inverted)...is this correct?

              thanks

One way would be to use an override material with a vray dirt map with distribution of 1, and change the lighting to just a white environment with no sun.

There is also an script that just does an AO pass, regardless of lighting. The only bad thing is it doesn't have an invert normals option like Vray Dirt.

You would want to comp it together using multiply so it knocks out the white areas and leaves the dark, which will be where objects intersect, and, if using vray dirt with inverse normals, on object edges.

                    quick update with AO pass

just wondering how to make those reflective caustics work as now checking them prodices spots and sort of dust noise...

Why do you want to enable reflective caustics?

Looking good, though I must say I prefer the first view

How are you doing your metal? The foreground metal looks better in the later images, but the metal geometry further back looks better in the first view. Maybe its just the camera angle.

Don't use GI reflective caustics, its not what you want and looks ass if you use it with IR map.

Best to use photon causitcs. via the Vray:Caustics rollout. Be sure to set the photon emit radius of your sun to be just around the scene so you dont waste photons.

Do a search for my name and caustics for a fair bit more info on a method I use.

                            clifton:
yep i must say the best shot lies somewhere in the middle of it all- will have to elaborate for ther final...maybe i will delete the AO pass for the background metal....its a simple mettal black in diffuse and color in reflection....large noise for the bump to give the metal plate some tiny ripple as the metal sheets r never perfectly planar...

da_elf: yep..a big villa..u havent seen the rest of it yet...its 3times bigger!!!!! madness ..

da_force: man its me "teabag" martin i know your stuff u ve helped me many times ...this is just my personal project im working on aside teabag.....i will still post as teabag!!! and sometimes as PIXELBOX. will probably use the reflective caustics fot the internals and outdoor pool...your way with the direct light

just have to redo the ivys..the one on the garage for sure and add some more objects and details...will keep u updated on the results guys
