  • BMW 7 Series

    Hello,

I believe this is my first post here in the image gallery. Anyway, this is a BMW 7 Series from 2006.

It's made for fun and it's poly modeled in max 8 and 9 and rendered with vray 1.5 sp1.

I usually do extremely dull swedish architecture at work so this was a nice change.

    Tell me what you think

Well, I don't like your choice of font but aside from that it's pretty damn impressive

I think they look very good.
But the dashboard isn't very detailed, is it? :P

            Very nice indeed.
Carpaint seems just a tad too glossy tho.. maybe it needs to be sharper.. heck it still looks great

They're there actually, but pretty hard to see.

Any chance you could post the unsmoothed/lowpoly wires?

Everything is unsmoothed/lowpoly, except for the body. But I'll leave it high poly i think. You don't want to see that crappy mesh anyway

The renders are excellent, would you possibly be up for sharing the textures ?

The few textures I use are from cg-cars.com, except for a couple of opacity maps for the windshields and logos etc. So you can get them from their forum.

All in all a very nice studio setup. Just some points that poped to my eyes:

-The seams seem to be inconsistant. Some seem a bit "bulgy" (esp. rear-end of the rear-door and the trunk seam)
-It could use some more light. Esp. for the tyres and the licenseplates. But also the whole front and rear seem to get kinda "lost in the dark". Giving these spots a little more light would also make the siloutte stand out more on the black floor (wich i´d rather make a tad brighter to have a slight feel of shadow to make it look less "floating". Given the brightness of the reflections on the carpaint i´d expect at least a bit of light to hit the floor)
-Rims could get more reflections to show their actual shape. As currently the front surface is almost black on the spokes. Looks a bit as if they would have more spokes then they have on first look.
-There´s a rather undefined "dark area" on the front of the hood that somehow disturbs me a little

As said all in all a very nice studio setup and a nice model too!

                              Kind Regards,
                              Thorsten
