I am still not getting any emotion from the architect. All I get is changes and picky complaints. I should post an example of the work they were getting.

    Anyway, thanks for the posts.

And some people are just never happy. I've worked with people like that. I made 50% of the original fee in additional services off that guy

      Fee

That is funny. I guess he will not return! It is a win/win. Either he will not return or if he does you'll profit.

By the way, nice improvement on the interiors. Push them a little farther and start submitting to Vismasters for an Image of the Week award.

          Image of the week

That sounds like a great idea. Any tips on submitting?

            Here's some tips,
            - Work on cleaning up the ceiling. It looks like you're using an AO pass in photoshop.
            - Look at glossy reflections for wood in real life for reference. For example, the wood timber framing looks like it's got the same sheen as a sugar glazed doughnut, "mmmmm" Homer says with drewl dripping down the front of his shirt
            - Work on better stone materials at the fire place - Arroway is a great start for that, or Crazybump

The lighting is pretty much there. It's just a few minor things that are bringing the image down. It's still leaps and bounds more improved than the church interior you did of the two story lobby space. Good work.

              Arroway

I did look into the Arroway DVD's but the libraries don't seem to have common types. No river rocks or ledge stone. I guess I can use better materials for the submission part since they can be fictitious.

i know what you mean about picky clients. I think after a few jobs some of them can really start taking your work for granted.

Its weird though that sometimes you get criticised the entire way through a project and you get the impression that the client isn't happy but this isnt always the case. Many people just want to see how far they can push it and its not because they are unhappy. I've found that clients pickyness is dependant on the quality you produce. The more realistic things get, they sometimes get pickier and want it to look real. Often this can be frustrating because they get hung up on unimportant details rather than looking at the impression as a whole. I have a feeling that it may be similar with your client who isn't giving positive feedback but may actually be very happy with things

And why do so many clients just take your prelims and not rely/respond for 2 weeks and then all of a sudden they spring amendments on you that are due the next day?. Or if they are happy with your prelims they just go and start advertising the image without responding or paying even if its just a crappy low resolution JPG preview? I generally get treated like my work isnt needed or important, yet the work gets carefully scrutinised as if it isnt just an artists impression. I think its a bit of a thankless business except for when you get new clients who are always "blown away"...but only on the first job

Anyway getting a bit carried away here. sorry :P

Not bad, as already said its just the roof that could be better. You seem to have developed your own unique style, i think i would easily recognise your images from a bunch of randoms - and possibly thats down to the trees you use and lighting, you get away with casting the main focus in shadow. Interesting.

We just had a laugh about your profile, jesus first, wife second, kids come third then 3d...

oh please don't mention jeebus!. Don't you know this forum is full of heathens? I'll need to dig out a crucifix and holywater to fend them off.

every time someone says Jesus Christ I think if my mum when i was a kid cursing away at everything but other than that I'm keeping out of all religious debate :P

so anyway, nice images again and i agree that you have developed your own recognizable style which is a good acheivement

                        Profile

I think we have a cross thread here. I don't think my profile is the one being mentioned, or maybe it is since I did list my interest in that order. Anyway, thanks for all the comments and support. I credit my improvements to this forum, even if you are a bunch of paganus heathens
