  • Breakfast !

Update: I have moved the final version of the image to the front page. Due to hosting bandwidth, i had to move the images and delete some further on in this post..sorry.

    Hi,

Another personal project. Testing out ideas and textures. Took about 3 days to complete.

Still not sure about the jam in the jam jar. Might add a knife with butter and jam on, laying on the toast to the left.

Anyway, let me know what you think...ta

I hope you dont mind me doing large images. It shows up the details more..which i like

Wow, man, the details! The toast is perfect, and other shaders, shapes are pretty darn close too. The jam in jar stands out a bit, as you pointed, but imo adding some mapped jam to the glass sides can fix that quite easily.

But you really should work on the composition. Right now, lines are running wild all over the image. You should tidy things a bit, define a clear focus point (right now it's either the toaster - toast, or the mug -jar-pot group) , et ceterea.

        Anyway, crumbs rock.

        Best regards,

        A.

ps.: and thank you for showing it us in such a good resolution!

very beautiful and detailed image. right now i´m running home to make some of those...
I have to agree about the composition, but only about the focus point. after reading aldaryn´s comments i looked the small version and really get a little confused, but it´s not a big problem.

congrats and sorry if my english isn´t quite clear.
            Best regards,

              Great work!

What happened with the switch on the corner of the toaster issue?

Well, i used the standard method of just creating a boolean hole and then tidying up. I normally use shape merge but find it creates a lot of extra vertices that are not needed...boolean is cleaner to work with.

I still need to work on my modelling skills though...more precisely, making sure every face is quadified, which i sometimes find hard.

Aldaryn/ESPACO_VIRTUAL: Any advice on composition at all...I dont really have much experience in composition technique. I know my photography, "rule of thirds" at a very rough level, but would appreciate some ideas on layout. Cheers.

simon123: I prefer crumpets as well, but we didnt have any in the house at the time

Thanks for the comments though everyone.

nice work, love everything. Dito about the crumbs, they look cool.
The jam in the jar looks great but maybe just have it on one side.

sorry steveiouk, but my knowledge about composition is very basic. i've just looked again to image focusing composition because i've read aldaryn's comment and it seemed to me a bit disturbing. But at great risk of being totally off i would say that is too many objects in focus in the image. i think the jam jar, cup and coffee jar (?) should have less weight in composition. Looking to it it´s hard to me to get the whole in a single "pass", having to look to each side at a time.

Sorry if my english made it not so clear but i hope it contributed a little. like i said before it´s not a big issue IMO, it´s a great image, one of the best to me.
                        Best regards,

                        Gustavo

Thanks for the advice. I do agree, but I also want to keep all the objects in the scene...maybe I should group them all to the left of the image and have more space to the right...so that the left side of the image is the focal point.

I'll post up some comp changes sometime soon

Awesome Render! Details are very nice. That toaster looks like something you would conduct science experiments in though.

Heres an updated view (low quality). I think this looks better. Will add some detailing to the drawers under the worksurface. Do you think this looks better ? Maybe a little empty towards to back of the scene now..I think if i add DOF this might not be so obvious..
