This is an old project that i am using for testing rendering an lightning setups. In this case a have used brute force in prim and sec bonunce, vray sun /sky/phys cam. I dont get rid of some white dots in glossy surfaces and i think i have high settings setup. The frame was rendered in 2h 24min in a core 2 duo E6600 4gb ram.

    Please some CC.

    Cheers!!!

      Street scene

Complete with graffiti..... It is a little flat, but nothing a PS curve can't fix. What was the intent of the image? I am curious why you would add graffiti and electrical wires when sometimes we spend a lot of time removing them in PS. Other then the questions, great job. A lot of work!

The image its just for fun. with this I intent to practice some maping, ilumination and rendering settings. glorybound what do you think I can improve directly in the rendering to get better results? I would like to continue playing with this scene.

        Thx very much.

for what it's worth, i went to the link and got your image and then a second window launched that wanted to take me to "my girly space" that i couldn't get rid of. I finally had to reboot to get rid of it. I'm not blaming you but for everyone elses sake you might want to consider using a differnt hosting source.

                  Post

I just hit ctrl "L" and adjusted the white/black balance and I applied a curve. I'll do a screen cast and post it later this week.

a lot of my images come out with a similar flat look to them. generally its all about a bit of tweaking in photoshop afterwards to get things looking good. I like glorybounds edit - doesnt take long but helps a lot.

The other alternative is to consider alternate colourmapping methods like linear, exponential etc to try and generate the image with more brightness and contrast so that you are minimising post work. I think you may find that by rendering the scene with more light or different colourmapping it may seem a bit overexposed but it seems to help smooth out things a bit and in darker areas where there may have been some noise, this tends to get smoothed out. Look at the exposure levels of some actual photos as a reference.

Good effort though. are the people 2D cutouts added afterwards or are they rendered into the scene on planes?

The image is basically too dark, increase the iso on the vray camera. And if your not using physically camera, its about time you started

also mikeh and... well everyone should be using firefox and http://noscript.net/ plugin for a much much safer web.

those people are 3d i recognise them from low poly 3d collection.

I also think taht it looks too dark...the contrast between the shadow and direct light is very high in my opinion....the glass on the first floor(retail) needs more reflectivity and I also would take all the glass out of the GI calculation to catch more light inside the rooms....maybe using vray overide materials for the asphalt would help you to get a better diffuse light on the ceilings.

I like the composition in general but the entourage looks very uniform..."men on black"

                            good luck,

Thanks Fernando ,i will use that tips, I think that would help in the view. What do you advice me to get less contras about shadow areas and direct light areas? I would like to stay in linear mapping. Im using srgb and phys cam/sun/sky. maybe its a thing of camera settings?
