Here is a living room I have been working on.... I am loving it. I rarely do interiors so I was tickled to get this one. Please comment....

Nice work! I would add a small chamfer to your countertop to give it some edge highlights.

Yes. I already thought about that, thanks Isn't it funny how some jobs can't go wrong and others can't go right. This one was easy and went very well. I am getting some light leaking on the ceiling and something funny is happening on the bast trim on the bottom right, but I have pretty low settings.

looks good to me overall and its just small details that you could work on i think. heres a few little things i can think of:

        1. bump on the rendered band above the fireplace stone a bit large?
        2. Maybe chamfer the wood edges a bit as well
        3. Saturation levels generally a bit high?
        4. timber mapping on the cupborad doors and cabinet should maybe be differentiated a bit more
        5. Possibly a bit more to bring out the kithen bench - like a IES light pattern?

I like what you have done so far and know completely what you mean about sometimes things working first try and then other jobs where you think cant go wrong, everything does. I generally have a suspicion that something will go wrong if i'm mid way through and thinking that "this image is going to be awesome"...because generally something happens to prove me wrong!

Thanks for the reply. I caught most of what you found and will fix it when the architect gets me some information.

im not sure you've chosen the best camera angel, not really showing a lot, big post obscures a lot of the view and cuts the image in half. Otherwise it looks nice, im guessing its a low quality draft render because of the various glitches:

            fire should be brighter.
            sparkly floor
            skirting aa
maybe a fill light on the left

Cool i really like it! And yeah the cam angle is a bit unflattering because that supporting beam is splitting the image almost in half. My only other comment is have you heard of vray dirt? Get it on the ceiling as it will sit those beams in better and even some on the beams themselves wouldnt hurt.
Ive seen a fair bit of your work by now and this image is far better than your exteriors in terms of realism. The lighting and your BG image match perfectly.

                Thanks.

The exterior work usually has a tight time line, maybe 2 days, so I don't have time to play. You know, here are some sketches and I need a rendering tomorrow afternoon type requests . The exteriors that I am proud of have been ones that I spend more time on after the fact.

This client wants to highlight the fireplace and the only way I can get a view of the space is from the kitchen, which is behind the post and beams. The post and beams are a highlights as well so they what those featured. Good old American architecture! Once I get everything modeled I'll play with some camera views.

i didn't even notice that bottle, but... it does kind of have a 'blood' look to it :P

will be interesting to see the amendments one the client has seen it but it still looks good overall

The update looks pretty good! I just hate it when the camera distorts and stretches things like your light on the ceiling in the foreground
