Hey guys thanks for all your replies!
I'v been meaning to post the reel for years, but always was distracted, or information on it did not release at the time, so I couldnt show it.
The bsg stuff is from season 1. The only season I worked on. We did everything on it, space ships, cylons etc. Vray for 3ds max 1.45 beta was used to render at that time, back in 2004, vray for maya was only on drawing boards. Vray for maya however was uses on the jets, and eureka stuff.

I have to add - that was one of the best early BSG episodes as well. It seems like after the series took off they slowly started to phase out more of the special effects and relied more heavily on the actors instead. You stopped work on it right?
You are right, BSG had turned to be something else, we all loved it the pilot, season 1, but then it turned to bullshit. The effects were still there, but they greatly cut down the prices hance the quality went with it.

i still stubbornly watch BSG but call the show battlefart craptacular to amuse myself mostly but i'm sure if anyone saw the big elaborate set of arm movements and vocals that went with my version of the introduction, i'd be declared a complete idiot.

Anyway, thats all i could think of saying while this downloads . It almost feels like before the movies when you cant wait.

I'm just blown away to know that you were involved in the CG on these shows/movies. Really nice work

I always admired the lighting/reflection work on the Cylones S1. Amazing to know you were the responsible culprit. I thought I read somewhere that some of that was done using Lightwave.

p.s. - you have any Tricia Helfer models?

Yes, the initial cylons in pilot were done in lightwave, and I must say visually they looked very nice, in the opening sequence. Exept the animation.
But after season 1, in particular episode 6 which was our last work on them, they dropped in quality significantly.

p.s. - you have any Tricia Helfer models? - haha no.
